With over 3 decades in the finance-corporate sector, he appears to have gained immense knowledge and has dedicated his precious time to giving expert investment advice, among many other interventions in the corporate world.
Adding to his long list of expert advice is in the field of travel and tourism and today, he seeks to explain 5 favorite Australian destinations with a view to educating the would-be travelers on these scenic and exotic places. The following are these destinations, told from the point of view of the expert himself.
#5. The Blue Mountains National Park
The Blue Mountains National Park lies 81 km west of Sydney and has been offering a stunning day trip experience from the city. The naming of the park was inspired by the blue haze that emanates from the various eucalyptus trees and according to Darren, this is a marvel in its own right. With a protection of over 664,000 acres of bush land, the park also features some scenic gorges, aboriginal rock paintings as well as cascading waterfalls, to name but a few. There is also a hiking trail covering over 140 Km and the iconic sandstone rocks known as the Three Sisters.
#. 4 The Sydney Harbor Bridge
The Sidney Harbor Bridge is yet another one of the top 5 favorite Australian destinations according to Darren. Mr. Pawski encourages tourists to visit this bridge whose biggest claim to fame is the fact that it is the largest steel arch bridge in the whole world. Having been completed in 1932 and rising 143 m above the harbor, the 500 m long bridge connects the north shores of Sydney to the city’s Central Business District. Access is made available by an extensive pedestrian park as well as 8 lanes for road traffic and 2 railways lines that extend over it.
#3. Bondi Beach
Bondi beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world, and rightfully so. It is perhaps the only beach that features bronzed bodies, blond sand an opportunity to go backpacking and surfing. This seamless combination of fun is what sets it apart from the rest. With just about 15 minutes of a car drive from the city centre, the beach offers endless possibilities for picnic lovers, thanks to its extensive coastline and trails. Darren urges everyone to look to this beach for an enchanting picnic experience, and especially recommends it for bigger vacations such as Christmas.
#2. Fraser Island
In his own words, Darren remarks, ’there is never a dull moment when you are tucked far away in a majestic island, free from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life’’. The Fraser Island is situated conveniently between Brisbane and Bundaberg, off the Australian east coast. It is not only the largest sand island in the whole world, but is also one of the country’s unique 4-wheel-drive adventures. The island offers a rare view of the colored sandstone cliffs of The Cathedrals, the fish-filled rock pools of Champagne Pools as well as the Seventy-Five Mile Beach. As you advance inland, you are treated to the breathtaking sights of clear freshwater lakes and creeks and ancient rainforests that teem with exotic birds and trees.
#1. The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrie Reef is one of the phenomenon’s visible from space, and one of the iconic landmarks of Australia, which is why Darren strongly advises all travelers to visit this destination. It has been hailed as the world’s largest living structure and features over 3000 coral reefs as well as 600 continental islands that include the Whitsundy group. There is also over 300 coral cays and an inshore mangrove islands. Needless to mention, the structure is enlisted as one of the seven natural wonders, and one of the last pieces of geographical heritages for which the country is known.
